Since Mom is sooooooooo busy... here is what I have been up to.

I helped marry off uncle Nick. My favorite part was the dancing!

I got rid of that baby bed and now I sleep in a "Big Boy" bed.

I cook pizza (thanks uncle Matt and aunt Jaime for the recipe), cinnamon rolls, and biscuits.

I also helped dad train for his half ironman. He couldn't have done it with out me as his coach.

I also built a fence for Buckeye so he won't run in the road.

I also have learned how to go potty in the big boy potty, and I love to wear "Big Boy pants". I help mom everyday in her daycare and even help clean the house. When I get another chance I will post, but mommy says I have to go now.

Our Superhero

If you've seen Joe recently you can tell right away that he's been working out. Yes, I do feed him but when you run 10 miles and bike 50 alternately daily, it's just plain difficult to keep the weight on :)
Joe has been able to compete in a couple runs and triathlons this summer. He loves them and Zeke and I love cheering him on. He still has his 2 biggest left for August and September. We are so proud of all his hard work.

Triathlons begin with the swim. Can you spot him?

Next comes the transition to bike.
And he's off for the bike.

Now he's on to the run (sorry I can never remember the distances)

The end is near!!!

Celebrating at the finish line with friends.
Last weekend Joe AND his dad did a 5k run together. We were so proud of both of them. This was Stacy's first EVER race. He did great and finished pretty high in his age division. Way to go guys!

Before
A certain 2 year old prevented me from capturing Stacy as he finished :)

Our Little Zekers is 2!!!!!

I have a lot of catching up to do but I thought I'd start with the most exciting first.

As hard as it may be to believe, it's been 2 years since our little Zeke made his sudden arrival into our lives. He's turned into quite the little man and keeps us laughing and on our toes. Needless to say we are still 100% head over heels about him and we've had fun ringing in the "terrific twos" with him.
Of course when you're 2 you take as many parties as you can get and well....he's having 3!!! First we celebrated in California with Nana and Papa and the westcoast Wartas. On Monday (his actual Bday) we celebrated with mommy, daddy and Uncle Cody who was visiting. This Saturday we'll celebrate with daycare and church friends as well as the Proudfoot fam. He's really gotten into this whole presents thing and I'm already nervous about the next party we go to that is not for him :( Here's a few pics, enjoy!!!

For more pics of the CA party check out my parents' blog to the right.

Mommy Secrets

As any new mom can attest, motherhood does not simply come with a new bundle. You also receive a lifetime of advice free of charge. :) At the slightest wimper of your precious child you will receive countless suggestions and endless recommendations on how when and where you should care for your baby. Don't get me wrong, this can be very helpful. Were it not for the wisdom of the ages I would have never learned to have an extra wipe handy when changing boys and many other highly valuable tricks of the trade. I have however realized there were a few things nobody has ever shared. I've taken the liberty of compiling a short list just in case there are any newbies out there in need of a hand. :)

Nobody told me....

Macaroni and Cheese leaves grease rings on clothing

Nobody told me....

You have the right to dance around the house exclaiming to anyone who will listen (most likely the dog) how amazing and talented you are when you remove the grease ring from the "Old Navy" hand me down.

Nobody told me...

You will get desperate enough to sit on the potty seat.

Nobody told me...

During your brief reign on the potty throne you will hear a loud crash followed by shrieks of pain.

Nobody told me...

When your child does not like something he has eaten, he must remove it from his mouth and place it in your hand. Nothing else will adequately display his level of disgust!

Nobody tole me...

It is possible to clean all appropriate parts during a 2 minute shower.

Nobody told me...

Should you abuse your 2 minute shower privilege 2 year olds can take matters into their own hands...FLUSH!!!

Nobody told me...

The clock moves twice as fast during naptime.

Nobody told me...

A mommy is better than MacIver. We can fix anything with fresh batteries and baby wipes. (We don't even need the chewing gum)

Nobody told me...

Fresh batteries make toys twice as obnoxious.

Nobody told me...

How much prettier the world is through 2 year old eyes.

I Know You Missed This Face...

We're back!!! Here's a little sample of what our little man has been up to.

Having fun helping daddy wash the car.

Zeke LOVES making forts, and gets even more excited when mommy and daddy join him.

Watching daddy mow the lawn.

At the Memorial Day parade with daddy.

He LOVES playing with the hose.

Fast asleep with baby.

Note who's sleeping here :)

Headed to the parade with mama.

Playing with the hose again!
We took a trip to the zoo with grandma and grandpa Proudfoot.

Checking out the hippos with daddy. Apparently they, like sharks, say "roar"!
What's a day at the zoo without ice cream?

Got grandma and grandpa, who needs mom and dad?

Playing with daddy.

I Know...

So, I am fully aware that I have been a TERRIBLE blogger lately. I've been trying to come up with some really good excuses for why I've dropped the ball but honestly I've just been lazy :) I promise to update you very soon, for now it's a little overwhelming!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Easter this past weekend. Here's a few pics of all the fun.

Since I didn't have any daycare kids, we spent Good Friday as a family. Zeke enjoyed coloring the eggs, however they did not fare so well. While they were beautifully dyed, they were all "bruised" by the end of the festivities :(

Nothing better for a 1 1/2 year old than chocolate at 6:30 am!!

What do you mean no more???

We tried to get a family pic of everyone in their sunday best. Buckeye was the only willing participant!

Can you see how tightly I'm "hugging" Zeke? :) By now those chocolate eggs had kicked in and he would not sit still for anything!

Daddy's turn to wrestle with him.

No, he does not have a black eye. I'm not sure why this picture looks that way.
