If you've received our blog address you already know who we are and probably a little bit about our story. Entering the world of blogging is new to us but we wanted to establish a blog for a few reasons. 1-We have been so blessed by many friendships that we want to keep everyone updated. Your encouragements and prayers have been invaluable to us through the trials. 2-It's also a great way to keep ourselves occupied with something during the difficult days of waiting.
Our story of adoption began nearly six years ago when we decided to expand our family. Believing we would be "like everyone else" we began choosing baby names and anticipating who our little prince our princess would look like. What a wild journey it's been since then. After 3 years of infertility treatments we decided God had a different plan for us. Last summer we began the process of an open, domestic adoption. (Open adoption means we will meet and establish an ongoing relationship with the birthfamily. Domestic adoption means our child will be from the United States.) Our home study was completed on November 28, 2006 and we officially became "paper pregnant".
On January 2, 2007 we received word that we had been chosen by a birthmother. We were thrilled! Emma was due on January 27th and we began frantically making arrangements for her arrival. On January 14th our journey took another detour. We received a phone call from our social worker. She said that Emma had been born on the 13th and she was a beautiful, healthy little girl. However, her birthmother had decided to parent herself. We were devestated, but were surrounded by wonderful friends who encouraged us and lifted us up in prayer. We never would've made it without them.
So here we are, 3 months after that devestating call and yet still confident that God does indeed have a wonderful plan for us and the precious little one that will one day make their arrival into our home. We hope this blog provides you with a window into our journey. It's a journey that has been full of many peaks and valleys and yet, oddly so much joy. We have no idea what the future posts will hold, only the confidence that He holds us tightly in His hands.

We continue to pray that your wait will not be too much longer and that you too will be holding your precious baby in your arms forever. We are so blessed you have you as friends. Thanks for the blog. Even though we are from faraway land, we hurt with you and wish we could make things better. We have prayed for you and will continue to do so. Your journey has involved many twists and turns, certainly it has seemed adventurous at times. We firmly believe that you will be great parents when the time comes. I know Abraham must have felt like he was going crazy when he was told he was going to birth a nation and yet had to wait beyond human logic but yet God is faithful and had great plans for Abraham and I believe God also has great plans for you. (I am not advocating Sarah be 90+ in years!)

What a blessing you both have been in our lives. Parents are suppose to be the ones teaching their children God's ways.....but you, our children continue to encourage our hearts as we travel along side you through this journey. God has already used your lives in amazing ways!! I'm reminded of the verse I found when you left for collage Sarah,I thought my heart was going to break and God comforted me with this verse.... 3 John 1:4 "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth". God has a perfect plan for your family....He is already working it out! God's timing is not our timing. We contiune to pray for you and our grandchild on a daily basis!
